Dental Technology

At Erin Hills Dental Treat Your Teeth with New Dental Technology

At Erin Hills Dental, we strive to meet our patients’ needs and comfort, and we do so with the help of the newest technological advancements the dental profession has to offer. Like any area of health care, dentistry has benefited from new technologies. Recent advances make dental treatment faster, more comfortable, and the outcomes are more aesthetic. To provide you with the best care, we have added new technology to our office including:

Laser Dentistry

Lasers dentistry reduced discomfort and in some cases, a suture free option for the treatment of benign tumors, cold sores, crown lengthening, decay removal, gummy smile changes, dental fillings, tongue tie and speech impediment improvements, nerve regeneration for damaged nerves and blood vessels and scars. Lasers may also be applied in the treatment of select dental conditions such as sleep apnea, certain cases of TMD and tooth sensitivity.

Digital X-Ray: 80% Less Radiation!

Digital X-rays are used with computerized equipment and software to capture X-ray images of your mouth and teeth. Digital radiography is safer than traditional X-rays because no chemicals are used and there is less radiation exposure. The images are instantly viewable, easily enhanced for improved viewing, and can be stored electronically and emailed to specialists and insurance companies.

Intraoral Camera: Seeing Things Together

An intraoral camera is a highly advanced innovation in dentistry that allows us to get a close-up view inside your mouth. Intraoral cameras are an essential tool in the diagnosis of our patient’s dental health and for a better understand the suggested treatment plan. In addition to being convenient and easy to use, the intraoral camera presents a great opportunity for patient education. The images are displayed on a television or computer monitor so that you can see what we see when we look inside your mouth. The crisp, color, magnified images provide us a means of seeing better, and each patient has the opportunity to visualize specific areas which may require monitoring. With a clear understanding of your dental condition, you’ll be able to make treatment decision with confidence.

Environmentally Friendly – Dry Vac System

Green and eco-friendly health care takes us beyond the Hippocratic oath, calling upon all health professionals to “do more good.” By focusing more on prevention, precaution, education, and wellness, we can significantly contribute to improving the health of our patients, the community, and the environment. Our Dental office has implemented a Dry Vac System in order to minimize the water consumption, have absolute minimal impact on the environment and to reduce waste and support our Erin community.

ZOOM Whitening

If you prefer teeth that are immediately whiter right now or you would rather whiten your teeth over a few nights while you sleep, Dr. Hormoz has your answer with Zoom! The Zoom! In-Office Whitening System uses proprietary technology to whiten your teeth an average of eight shades* in a little over an hour while you relax at your dentist’s office. It’s ideal for anyone who wants immediate results. The Zoom! Take-Home Whitening System uses a revolutionary patent-pending gel to whiten your teeth an average of six shades in three nights.

* And you may go even lighter with additional applications. Start on Friday and by Monday you’ll have a whole new smile.

Oral Sedation

Sedation dentistry will allow you to remain calm, relaxed and comfortable during any dental procedure you may need. Oral sedation or oral conscious sedation (OCS) – most often associated with sedation dentistry – is one of the more traditional ways to help you relax if you’re a little nervous about the dental procedure ahead of you. This moderate sedation via oral medication is dispensed to the patient before the appointment to diminish awareness of pain, sounds and smells.

There’s no need to stay away from your next dental appointment because you’re a little nervous. Get in touch with us today to learn more about sedation dentistry available for you at our dental office.

Electric Handpieces

When most patients associate a sound with a dental office, they usually think of the “whiney” hand-held drills that dentists use during many procedures. Many patients report a strong fear in reaction to the whiney sound of the dental drill. And, not only are they loud, these air-powered hand pieces (drills) all have a degree of non-concentricity (they do not rotate perfectly smoothly). This lack of precision can make achieving beautiful results challenging.

At Erin Hills Dental we use electric handpieces that are virtually silent. If the whine of the dental drill offends your senses, electric handpieces will place your mind at ease. Electric handpieces also perform more smoothly, allowing Dr. Hormoz to be far more precise between your tooth and your new restoration (crown, veneer, or filling) and will be smoother and more comfortable as well. Without the whine of the dental drill, you’ll be able to relax throughout your treatment. The combination of less noise and less vibration ensures that your dental work will be done with a precision never before achieved using a traditional dental hand piece.

We have made new technology a part of our practice because of the clear difference it makes in the dental treatments we offer and the impact in our Erin community. From early detection of possible problems to reduced pain and shorter procedures, the technology in Erin Hills Dental will improve your dental visits and your oral health.
